TimeLine 2009
Sign Changes:
During 2009 two planets change signs. Jupiter entered
Aquarius Jan 5! Out of professional Capricorn, into community oriented
Aquarius. If your business did well, it has lots to give! Oct 29, Saturn
enters Libra, putting things right in relationship, restoring a working
balance, finding the real potential of partnerships, making long term
commitments.
No Fire!
Pluto and Saturn (until Oct 29) are in Earth signs, while Neptune,
Chiron and Jupiter are in Air signs, Uranus in Water. It’s
a mix, but no
Fire! Earth helps us focus on what really works, puts things
in to
practice, makes repairs, builds from what’s around. Air lifts our minds
to
speculate, create, share ideas. Water simmers the brew, blending,
distilling, seeing what’s unseen, motivations. Not a year for fiery new
beginnings.
Stelliums:
Several times in a century there may be 7 or more planets
within 20 degrees, and during a given year it’s possible to have a dozen
or more clusterings of 5 planets within a 20-degree arc. In 2009, with
Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius, we have monthly clusterings
of 4 until Jupiter enters Pisces 1-17-10. We have four clusterings of 5,
and, in February 2009, two of 6 planets! Feb 23 we have 6 planets in
only 14 degrees!
Venus Retrograde
March 6 through April 17
Mars Retrograde Dec 20, 2009 to Mar 10, 2010
Neither Retrograded in 2008; this year we get both! Both have to do with
love, Venus makes your choices; Mars is what you do about them.
Venus is what you eat, how you choose to look; Mars is your exercise.
Venus rates your financial standing, financial choices; Mars is your self
leadership, initiative. Venus is beauty, graciousness: Mars is how you
stand up for what you want, want to give! Review, revise, restore!
Aquarius 2009
Mercury is still Retrograde in Aquarius until Jan 20, then in Capricorn
until Jan 31. Reconsider your business decisions, whom you choose as
associates. Restructure as makes sense, tap professional connections
that have a reputation for excellence in research, innovation. Unless you
are quite experienced, wait to make real estate and electronics decisions.
If a change would cost more than you are willing to pay if it doesn’t
work
out, wait. Your father or boss may change their minds, your friends may
not go with you this time. Balance old reliables with must changes.
This echoes the continuing
Saturn (rules Capricorn) in Virgo opposition
Uranus (rules Aquarius) in Pisces. They will make their 2nd of 5
connections Feb 5, the same day Venus squares Pluto. This combo
will likely prove difficult for some relationships, delay your divorce
proceedings. I recommend financial caution. Double check
bookkeeping, better to wait to do costly advertising, renovate business
facilities or strategies. What ‘breaks’ has needed change. Talk,
learn,
imagine, forgive as you can, including yourself, carry on after all the
information is in.
Eclipses:
Jan 25, 09 Solar,
New Moon 6 Aquarius 30 – 5 Planet Stellium in
Aquarius, Jupiter, Moon/Sun, North Node, Chiron, Neptune! Emphasis
on learning, growth, expansion, getting out of the box to new places,
healing from addictions, getting into the business of making dreams
come true, longevity in relationships balanced with freedom and
friendships, community work, world change. Pluto, Mars/Mercury (Rx)
in Capricorn to build the structure, make the time, set priorities and
goals, follow natural and God’s laws, respect mentors and elders,
apprentice with gratitude, lead for the experience. Mercury Rx suggests
being flexible and adaptable because the rules, goals, timing, people in
charge, are gonna change! Uranus/Venus in Pisces to sweeten the
change, accept difference, see where we fit, be sensitive to what makes
us entirely attractively valuable, wake up psychic perception, love for
love’s sake. Saturn is across the bridge, opposite Uranus/Venus,
holding us to our commitments, tending the gardens of our relationships,
personal, with friends and of our community gatherings.
Feb 9, 09 Lunar,
Full Moon 21 Leo – Again, 5 Planet Stellium in
Aquarius, this time Mars Jupiter, North Node, ASC, Sun, Chiron,
Neptune! Mercury, now direct, still in Capricorn, keeps thinking crystal
clear, guides the project. The implication of Mars now in Aquarius is to
up the amps, get out of the boxes, keep things going to new places,
apply new mechanics to solve the old problems. Independence runs
strong, freedom calls, new friends inspire. Not a time to sit back bored
and lonely. Plus, Venus has gone forward into Aries, Mars’s sign, loving
every bit of it, wanting it, seeking the funds for it! The Eclipse Moon in
Leo calls for us to find our individual place of contribution among the
many, to liven up the party, get some more color into our lives, create
expressively, stand up and let people know, teach!
The Saturn/Uranus
opposition is strong in both eclipses – a wise Saturn
harnesses the wild ride Uranus offers, builds and packs in the new
treasures! Uranus wakes up old Saturn and throws the old rules and
protections out the window, on its way to untold options! Saturn
preserves and conserves what Uranus throws to the winds, so that
greatness isn’t lost. A genius Uranus uses Saturn’s tried and true
structure as a springboard for further inventions. Computers and
electronics will continue to flourish!

Aquarius, just as its symbol implies, gives us a frequency, the tone, the

you, your Spirit. How is it said? Who do you want to say your name to
you? Is your name who you are, who you are becoming that you have
always been that you are awakening to? Are you respectful and loving in
the way you say other people’s names, call the goodness in them to you?

1 Candlemas Eve is the
official last day of the Christmas season –
time to take the decorations down. At the
same time, an ancient Celtic festival
considered the first day of spring.
February 1st
is the feast day of St Brigid,
who began her life as a pagan goddess
and ended up a Christian saint. The great
high goddess, Bride or Brigid, was a fire
and fertility goddess, perhaps
embodied in the stars in the constellation
we view as Orion. In her temple at Kildare,
her priestesses tended an eternal flame.
She presided over all transformations:
birth and brewing, metal-smithing and
poetry, the passage from winter to spring.
She is the patron saint of midwives and
pregnant women. She is also the patron

On the eve of her feast
day in Ireland, people put out a loaf of bread on
the windowsill for the Saint and an ear of corn for her white cow, offerings
for the grain goddess like the loaf buried in the first furrow. Wheat stalks
are woven into X-shaped crosses to be hung from rafters as charms to
protect homes from fire and lightning.
Activities
during Imbolc can include candle lighting, stone gatherings, snow
hiking and searching for signs of spring, feasting, and bon fires may be lit.
The lighting of candles and fires represents the return of warmth and the
increasing power of the Sun over the coming months. Imbolc represents
purity, growth and re-newal, the re-union of the goddess and the god,
fertility, and dispensing of the old and making way for the new.
If
you plan your own ceremony, use these two powerful symbols: fire and
water. For instance, wash your hands and bathe your face in salt water,
which is especially good for purification. Light a candle as you make your
pledge. Incorporate the third symbol of the holiday — seeds — by
planting
a seed or bulb in a pot to symbolize your commitment, or by blessing a
bowl or packet of seeds that you will plant later.
Make a beautiful bride’s
bed, fill it with gifts and symbolic treasures –
invite the Goddess to do her work, invoke her blessing….
